Stop three of Rapid Ascent Trail Running Series to hit Anglesea

Running enthusiasts will enjoy the beautiful Surf Coast trails this weekend during the Rapid Ascent Trail Running Series event at Anglesea.

This Sunday, July 31, Torquay event management company Rapid Ascent will hold the race with four course options (8km, 15km, 22km, and friendly 4km), offering a diverse range of trail running experiences for all types of runners with varying abilities.

The race will start at Anglesea main beach and cover parts of the hinterland trails that showcase the Surf Coast.

The Anglesea course is always a favourite for runners who compete in the series, and event organisers are encouraging locals to continue getting on board.

“Trail running brings people together and really does offer more than just the enjoyment on the trails – it’s the endorphins, the fitness and health opportunities – all in our own backyard on the Surf Coast,” Rapid Ascent event director Sam Maffett said.

In 2022 as the series ticks into its 11th year, Rapid Ascent have added the friendly 4km race, aiming to get friends, families and kids involved so that everyone can experience the fun of trail running.

Rapid Ascent hope that by inviting a new demographic of people to take part, it will only enhance its reputation as being one of Victoria’s premier and socially friendly trail running events.

Spots are filling up fast for the race, however entries are still open and will stay open until the morning of the race this Sunday.

The Anglesea race is the third of five Rapid Ascent events this year, with the series heading to Plenty Gorge in September and then finishing with the Silvan Race in October at the Dandenong region.
