Virtually DANGEROUS in 2021

The Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club is pleased to announce the 2021 Bells Bash Cliff Run and Danger 1000 Ocean Swim Series will be virtual and have released details of the reimagined event ‘Virtually Dangerous 2021.

To participate, runners or swimmers simply enter online, run or swim the required distance anywhere and anytime between 1 January and 26 January and upload their time via their unique entry code. All entrants will receive a limited-edition t-shirt celebrating this unique virtual event sent direct to their home.

This event is an important fund-raising event for the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club and all money raised helps keep volunteer patrols on the beach at Jan Juc, keeping community and visitors safe. Obtaining the community’s continued support for this event is vital to the 100% volunteer service.

It’s up to each runner or swimmer where and when they complete the course – whether it’s the run or the swim or both and they are being encouraged to run around local ovals, swim in the local pool, run the streets of their neighbourhood or the ocean or bay near their home – they just need to complete the selected distance between 1-26 January 2021 and upload their time.

Brad Papworth, Event Director, has praised the club’s ability to adapt to the changes brought on by COVID-19 and says: "Our Bells Bash and Danger Ocean Swim Series events are very important to the club’s fundraising efforts. And while we are disappointed that we won’t get to see everyone in person at the events in 2021, we hope that people far and wide can support the events and bring much needed funds for our volunteer community service and have fun along the way."
