Kites of all shapes and sizes will take to the skies at Fishermans Bend, Torquay, on Sunday, October 22, for the Surf Coast Kite Festival.
Back for its sixth year, the free family friendly event will be bigger and better than ever.
Attendees will be treated to an immersive festival experience featuring giant kite displays, an array of live entertainment and plenty of fun activities for the kids including wildlife displays, soccer clinics, face painting, kite making, family yoga and loads more.
Presented by Jan Juc Preschool, the Surf Coast Kite Festival is a true community event, with lots of local businesses including The Surf Coast Times, Torquay Toys, The Surf Coast Shire, Furry Beach Bums, SignTek Imaging, sponsoring and getting involved to bring the event to life and offer a great day out for families and locals of all ages.
“We love seeing people of the Surf Coast come together and with the help of our sponsors and the local community we were able to not only put on an epic event but also raise funds for the Jan Juc Preschool.”
Event organisers this year are aiming to ensure the festival is carbon neutral, measuring carbon emissions and working to offset these by supporting the Jan Juc Preschool community to plant trees locally.
Not one to be missed, the Surf Coast Kite Festival is a free community event. The event is on from 10am to 2pm with all proceeds going towards the Jan Juc Preschool.
