The Danger Swim Series is an ocean swim event held inside Point Danger (a.k.a. Cosy Corner) on Torquay Front Beach and has been a major fundraising event for the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club since 1999. The swim is one of the largest open water swim events in Australia and offers a range of distances to suit an array of fitness and age levels.
Danger 500 swim - a great opportunity for junior competitors and beginners to ocean swimming to test their skill and fitness in a shortened version of the Danger 1000 course.
Danger 1000 swim - the popular signature swim that attracts competitors of all ages and abilities.
Danger 5km swim - this swim is for those who want an even greater challenge.
Danger 2.5km swim - this distance adds a challenge for the more competent swimmer.
Danger Dash - a wade event will also be run for children aged 6-12 years old.
This event is an important fund-raising event for the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club and all money raised helps keep volunteer patrols on the beach at Jan Juc, keeping community and visitors safe. Obtaining the community’s continued support for this event is vital to the 100% volunteer service.
